Last week, HS2 launched two consultations relating to the Phase 2b route between Crewe and Manchester.
The consultations are seeking feedback on:
- the Working Draft Environmental Statement (WDES), which provides a more detailed description of the construction and operation of Phase 2b, describes the likely significant environmental effects of the proposed scheme and the measures which HS2 intends to take to mitigate these effects.
- the Working Draft Equality Impact Assessment Report (WDEQIA) which considers the potential effects of the construction and operation of HS2 Phase 2b on groups protected under the Equality Act 2010.
Both consultations close at 23:45 hours on 21 December 2018.
HS2 are holding a series of public information events where you will be able to talk to staff from HS2 and the Department of Transport regarding the consultations, ask questions and find out more about HS2 in the area.
Tuesday, 13 November 2018 from 14:00 – 20:00 hours at Canalside Conference Centre, 34 - 36 Brooks Lane, Middlewich, CW10 0JG.
Thursday, 29 November 2018 from 14:00 – 20:00 hours at The Venue, Gadbrook Road, Rudheath, Northwich, CW9 7JL.
Thursday, 6 December 2018 from 14:00 – 20:00 hours at Crewe Alexandra FC, Gresty Road, Crewe, CW2 6EB.
The draft Environmental Statement includes more detailed reports and maps relating to the construction and operation of Phase 2b than have previously been released by HS2. I would therefore strongly encourage you to take part in these consultations to ensure that concerns or issues with the designs or proposals are taken into consideration as HS2 develop and finalise the Phase 2b scheme.
