This week is Big Energy Saving Week, a national campaign run by Citizens Advice and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to help people cut their energy bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.
Despite the introduction of the price cap on energy bills at the start of the year, analysis by Citizens Advice shows that consumers could still save more than £150 by switching their energy supplier. Last year, 21.6% of households in Chester West and Cheshire secured savings on their energy bills by switching supplier.
To help people find the best deal on their energy bills local staff and volunteers from Citizens Advice Cheshire West will be running the following sessions in and around the constituency this week:
They’ll also be giving advice on how people can make their homes more energy efficient, as well as ensuring people are getting any discounts or grants they might be entitled to.
If you are unable to attend one of these sessions, you can get further information and help from Citizens Advice’s comparison tool and supplier star rating as well as the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s webpage on energy saving, and energy grants calculator.
