Public Petition to Parliament

Climate change is a serious and pressing concern. I know that many Eddisbury residents care deeply about our environment. The UK has a leading role to play in tackling climate change. However, this also needs urgent attention from the Governments of the world.

The 2020 UN Global Climate Change Summit (COP26) will be a crucial moment for the future of our planet as it will set out the next stages of the Paris Agreement.  The UK is bidding to host this conference and a decision will be made soon.

I would therefore urge you to sign the petition so that we can send a clear message to Governments all across the world that the UK is ready to step up and take leadership.

Please return the petition to me as soon as possible, and no later than Friday, 14 June 2019.

Bring COP26 to the UK

To the House of Commons,

The petition of the residents of the constituency of Eddisbury in Cheshire,

Declares that climate change is a serious and pressing concern and needs urgent attention from the Governments of the world; further that the UK has a leading role to play in tackling climate change in the future.

The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urges the Government to ensure that the UK hosts the upcoming COP26 Climate Change Conference in 2020.

And the petitioners remain, etc.
We hope to present a digital petition to No 10 Downing Street.
