Support your High Street and buy local if you can says Antoinette Sandbach Parliamentary Candidate for Eddisbury. Antoinette was Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs in Wales for over two years and throughout the time she was in post she supported local producers and retailers, backing the NFU “Buy British” campaign.
Cheshire has a wealth of local producers with exceptional quality products. Audlem has shown that support for the High Street can lead to thriving businesses with good links to local producers. Recently a number of new shops have opened in the High Street including a butchers “Oxtail and Trotter” which sells meat reared locally and hung for 28 days to ensure good flavour, as well as gluten free sausages, a number of other new businesses have also opened including a coffee shop and a chocolatier. The area benefits from the canals which bring good tourist footfall into the rural village, helping to support new traders.
Antoinette said “Eddisbury hosts a huge variety of good local rural enterprises and by supporting them you can ensure that the pound that you spend recycles into the local community.”
